Oliver Bukowski
WER IST DIE WAFFE, WO IST DER FEIND (“WHO IS THE WEAPON, WHERE IS THE ENEMY”)
Music Jörg Huke
A thrilling story about four young people who are celebrating an early “Woodstock” in October 1913 during the Freideutsche Jugendtag (Free-German day of the youth), and “everything explodes into all directions” (Bukowski, geb. 1961). They fall in love, feel inspired by ideas about freedom, and outplay each other with quotations by prominent representatives from the art scene and social theory. Bukowski follows this clique from middle class, bohemian background and working class until the outbreak of WWI in summer 1914. The incredible enthusiasm for war is common to all of them, and will make the most severe adversaries go to war together, united in their patriotic spirit …
